How Do I Tell Mourners What to Wear?

What’s the best thing to say in a newspaper announcement, when the mourners don’t have to wear black, and not colourful clothing either. Smart casual attire doesn’t sound right? Help. Thanks

To make a statement about attire for a funeral service in a newspaper announcement, you could simply state “black dress code not required, conservative attire suggested.”

If you want to state it in a full sentence, you could say “Black dress code is not required for the funeral, but instead conservative attire is suggested.”

Thanks that’s helped a great deal.
