Hurricane Katrina 10th Anniversary: Remembering those we lost.

Today we commemorate the 10^th anniversary of hurricane Katrina, one of the deadliest storms in US history.

There are no words that can adequately describe the devastation caused by the storm or the sense of loss experienced by families who lost everything. All we can say is that we remember and we are thinking of you.

As we look to the skies at the time of landfall (6:10am CST) and throughout the day, we will honor the who were taken by this beastly storm.

There is no official accounting for the number of fatalities due to Katrina. Estimates range from 1,100 to 1,800. Most were from Louisiana. Mississippi was also hard hit. It is estimated that more than half of all victims were senior citizens. There are still an unknown number missing. (Read more: We Still Don’t Know How Many People Died Because Of Katrina).
