Last August we explored the topic of the funeral selfie in our article, Should you snap that funeral selfie? Now MTV News is looking at the topic.

Death is a part of life. So are selfies. The two combined lead to a lot of… well, poor Instagram decisions.

Disclaimers first: we’re not trying to make fun of anyone who is in mourning. Death is sad, and people mourn in different ways. If you want to get dressed up and smile wide at a funeral, maybe that’s just your process. And funerals, along with weddings, are often the only opportunity you have to dress up and put on a tie or nice dress. And YES, everyone looks good in black.
