Should there be a funeral procession to the cemetery? Is a hearse needed to transport the casket?
Whether or not to have a procession to the cemetery is a matter of choice. Distance to be traveled and traffic conditions are considerations that may make a procession impractical. A hearse (or funeral coach) is the traditional method of transporting the casket between service locations and the cemetery. Specially outfitted vans are another way to transport the casket and may be a less expensive option.
Are limousines needed to transport family members in the funeral procession to the cemetery?
Most funeral homes offer limousines and upscale sedans to transport family members between locations during a funeral. These transportation services are optional but many families feel that it is a convenient way to travel together during the funeral.
